A Question We Hear Often
Many families have a box of LEGO® bricks sitting somewhere in their home.
Sometimes it’s from a child who has outgrown them.
Sometimes it’s a collection that’s been packed away for years.
A question we hear all the time is:
“What should I do with my old LEGO® bricks?”
That question is actually how NickleBrick Workshop™ began.
Turning Shared LEGO® Bricks Into Something New
NickleBrick Workshop™ repurposes shared LEGO® bricks into curated build kits and hands-on community build experiences.
Instead of letting bricks sit unused, we collect them from families and businesses and give them new life.
Shared bricks are:
• sorted
• organized
• repurposed
• packed into creative build kits
These kits are then shared at pop-ups, community events, and through local businesses.
But the story doesn’t stop there.
The Bigger Mission Behind NickleBrick Workshop™
NickleBrick Workshop™ was inspired by our son Nicholas — our Builder-in-Chief.
Nick has always loved building, puzzles, and organizing LEGO® pieces into patterns and structures.
As NickleBrick grows, we are creating structured workstations where Nick can participate in sorting bricks, assembling kits, labeling packages, and preparing builds for the community.
Our goal is to grow this model into a Hands-On Skills Lab where teens and adults with developmental disabilities can learn meaningful work routines through the NickleBrick process.
Shared bricks help make that possible.
How the NickleBrick Model Works
It’s a simple cycle:
Shared LEGO® bricks → creative build kits → community builds → retail supports skill opportunities
Every contribution helps build toward a future space where creativity and inclusive work opportunities can exist side-by-side.
One day we hope to open a community build space where:
• the front includes retail kits and build tables
• the back includes a skills lab
• the community can see meaningful work happening
How You Can Be Part of the Story
If you have LEGO® bricks sitting unused, they may be exactly what someone else needs to build something new.
NickleBrick Workshop™ happily accepts:
• loose bricks
• mixed collections
• minifigures
• partial sets
• accessories and speciality pieces
There’s no need to clean them — we handle sorting.
(We simply ask that people do not purchase new sets specifically to contribute.)
